I'm starting off 2016 with a bang as one of 25 top interior designers participating in the Design on a Dime Miami Benefit. Internationally acclaimed interior designer, James Huniford, Founding Chairman and the New York interior design community have since 2004 held a festive design-focused annual benefit. Design on a Dime is now known as NYC's premier design benefit, with all proceeds going towards ending the AIDS epidemic in New York State by 2020.
Miami Design District, Housing Works and Elle Decor, partnered with Josh Wood Productions and Mark Stephens Design are hosting their first Design on a Dime Benefit at the Moore Building in the Design District February 5th, 6th and 7th. The proceeds from Design on a Dime Miami will serve to launch their national "Ending the Epidemic" AIDS advocacy platform, together with South-Florida based partners. The Chairman's Preview is the opening night of the benefit, when guests will have first dibs on buying any and all items at deep discounts. The opportunity to shop the benefit continues for two more days, by the end of which, hopefully everything's sold.
Each designer has been allocated a 12' x 12' space to create a room vignette with goods donated by their vendors. My vendors were incredibly generous, donating some absolutely fabulous pieces. A big shout-out to all my vendors who made the Doreen Chambers Interiors vignette possible: Hickory Chair Furniture, Lexington Home Brands, Arteriors, Stark Carpet, Julian Chichester, Zoffany, and Illumé
Here's just a taste of the items that will be part of our vignette:
Walnut wood finish buffet with drawers and shelves from Lexington Home Brands
Vintage crystal table lamp with silver lined shade from Illumé
Jean Michel Frank-style lounge chair upholstered in mohair from Hickory Chair Furniture
Shagreen topped games table with walnut wood finish from Hickory Chair Furniture
