Annabel's, the exclusive private nightclub in London's Mayfair neighborhood, formerly owned by its founder Mark Birley is under new stewardship. Owned since 2007 by Richard Caring, he moved Annabel's from its original location on Berkeley Square, two doors along to an impressive four-floor Georgian mansion.
The lavish renovation carried out by designer Martin Brudnizki, is not rooted in any one particular style, but is rather a heady mash-up of opulent, decadent maximalism, which World of Interiors writer Nicolas Coleridge refers to in his current article as "PMT-FM: post modern, transitional, fusion, maximalism." How exhilarating to decorate with seemingly wild abandon, calibrating the most unlikely combination of colors, finishes, fabrics and metals, layered throughout with dramatic decorative arts-style flourishes. This is classic decorating on steroids where every surface is adorned; chairs, sofas and banquettes are layered with sumptuous fabrics along with ornate passementerie tassel and fringe details.
Completely over the top Inspiring interiors that I can't wait to see up close and personal.

Annabel's facade is decked out in a glorious profusion of my favorite peonies celebrating the annual RHS Chelsea Flower Show - Annabel's, 46 Berkeley Square, London W1
The Flower Room - as you can see the dining chairs, walls, mirrors, ceiling and even the chandelier get the full-on treatment
Ground floor dining room with dining chairs cosseted in rich Pierre Frey fabrics, accessorized with classic Fortuny lamps and painted garden scenes line the walls
Dining chair tassel and bullion fringe details make their comeback...
No detail is too small to be overlooked
Mix and match patterns are everywhere!
The to-die-for ladies room with luminous pink onyx sinks and gold swan faucets is already the hit of Instagram. I mean really how could you resist?

This hallway painted in lacquered red with renaissance inspired leopard print rug designed by Linney Cooper leads to the nightclub
For this me this room has a definite victorian vibe - perhaps it's the red & green color palette and leather chesterfield
A relatively sedate bar with retractable roof
The bar is saved from being overly fussy thanks to the flagstone stone flooring and simple wrought iron lamps
