The 47th annual Kips Bay Decorator Showhouse is underway in an exquisite townhouse on the upper east side. Kips Bay is the most prestigious showhouse on the interior design calendar. Not just an opportunity for design enthusiasts to see the work of renowned designers, there’s also the Boys & Girls Club in the Bronx on whose behalf Kips Bay raises millions of dollars “to provide much needed after school and enrichment programs.”
The Showhouse Committee selects 22 stellar interior designers to participate and each is allocated a space to be completely renovated from scratch in a stress-inducing 6-week timeframe. Everyone brings their A-game! This year’s designers did not disappoint, showcasing rooms that are as dazzling and luxuriously appointed as ever.
For your armchair viewing here are my favorite rooms. The show house is open until May 30th.
