Always on the lookout for a home decor emporium where the finishing touches for every room can be found under one roof, I was thrilled to discover Hive Home Palm Beach. The moment I stepped through the surprisingly substantial front door I was acutely aware of having entered somewhere quite special.
Curated to satisfy the tastes of both the most discerning interior designers and consumers I found myself wandering from room to room marveling at it all. For once I was looking not just at items I’d seen elsewhere, but also unique one-of-a-kind pieces that I hadn’t had to seek out, needle in a haystack style online.
All the finishing touches that make a room feel like home are to be found right here. Styles, finishes and materials are imaginatively grouped together, to helpfully remind you of things you might otherwise not have thought of had it all been loosely scattered throughout the store.
Hand woven rattan and wicker are classic Palm Beach staples and 2 of my favorite materials. They conjure up a sophisticated vacation home vibe, adding refined textured layers for a relaxed indoor/outdoor lifestyle. There are numerous options of rattan and wicker to suit every taste in natural and painted finishes.
Last, but not least as part of this interior design work, Hive Home has two areas for florals and plants - real varieties are in a beautifully appointed botanical area and faux options are with outdoor furnishings. As I’m not in Florida full time I keep some faux florals at home and found faux orchids that were actually made to be ‘potted’ in your own planter. This was a very happy discovery for me because I have Chinese celadon planters that I needed to fill, but was resisting getting live orchids. With the help of Stephanie Mayberry who runs the trade program, orchid plants were selected, potted and topped off with moss. To the naked eye they look totally real and have brightened up my laundry room considerably. I like a lot of service and Hive Palm Beach certainly provides it - yep, I’m a fan!!
