For those of us feeling landlocked courtesy of the global pandemic, the arrival of the new design book Inside Marrakesh: Enchanting Homes and Gardens by Meryanne Loum-Martin is the perfect escape. We’re invited to tour through exquisite interiors and enchanting gardens as Meryanne shares with us the rarely seen Marrakesh lifestyle of sophistication and refinement.
Marrakesh is the place I dreamed about my entire adult life and visiting for the first time 3 years ago, it lived up to and exceeded my expectations. I was mesmerized by the intricately detailed Moorish architecture, craftsmanship and culture, steeped in tradition and centuries of history. What a feast for all the senses.
We stayed at the fabled La Mamounia, a palace hotel of Moroccan fantasy and opulence. No wonder it was Winston Churchill’s favorite place to spend his winters.
One of the highlights of this trip, and there were many, was having the pleasure of meeting Meryanne Loum-Martin an inspiring designer and tastemaker who has made Morocco her home since 1995.
